I recently received word that Sally passed away.
Sally, so beautiful and loving, was the beloved dog for a wonderful couple who eloped to The Salish Lodge last March.
Sally was not only the flower girl, but ring bearer as well as canine witness.
Most of all, Sally was 17 years old. She lived a beautiful life with her people and leaves a great legacy of love and memories.
Forever and ever, Sally.
Some elopements are quick and easy. Some are full of plans and months of anticipation.
While Jeremy and Chontelle’s wedding day was a most elegant and formal affair this past Saturday evening at The Salish Lodge, in some ways you could say it was an “elopement.”
Jeremy and Chontelle and their family and friends all flew in from different places around the United States for the festivities. Salish Lodge and Catering/Events Manager, Erin Haldi, stepped in to insure that all wedding day and weekend details were attended to – in other words, Jeremy and Chontelle were fully taken care of in all ways.
So, elopements or perhaps “small/intimate weddings” all looks and feel different. While “traveling to a place to get married” may technically tie to the elopement definition, today’s couple is changing things up with contemporary ceremony and celebration touches.
You’ve got to love a guy and gal who elope to Seattle with such happiness and joy!
It was a happy joy for me to get Chris and Shannon so very married at The Salish Lodge this past Saturday afternoon.
Joined by their two happy witnesses, we found a perfect spot in the middle of a packed afternoon at the Falls and had our sweet ceremony.
In so many ways, The Salish Lodge is one of my most favorite venues for a small and intimate wedding ceremony and celebration…the staff, the service and the scenery is just spectacular in all ways.
Congratulations to a very fun-loving and beautiful couple!
Adam + Rebecca.
This beautiful couple “eloped” to Seattle from New Mexico and were married in a ceremony for “2” yesterday afternoon, following their hearts to create a very personal and intimate wedding day.
Joined by Mitzi and Kier of Firstlight Photography, Adam and Rebecca found a little spot near the Salish Lodge and with good weather, they shared in a ceremony with personal elements which included the sharing of wine, personal vows and in the Jewish tradition, the breaking of the glass.
Congratulations to such a beautiful couple!
Larry and Jennifer wanted a tiny and intimate ceremony – they got it AND by the time things were said and done, 20 happy family and friends were on hand to witness their lifetime moment.
Married this past Saturday, March 9th, at The Salish Lodge and overlooking Snoqualmie Falls, Larry and Jennifer “eloped” from the Lakewood area to be married at this gorgeous place in nature.
Elopements come in all shapes and sizes. For me, it is not about the size of an elopement guest list – rather, it is about creating a beautiful and memorable moment for two loving people – with a little fun, lots of joy and a few sacred moments!
Martin + Sarah = True Love!
I had the sweet delight of sharing in Martin and Sarah’s intimate and romantic wedding day at The Salish Lodge on July 28th.
This dynamic duo met at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere while on separate road trips a few years ago. They instantly “liked” one other – and to their amazement, found they were both Swiss Nationals living in the United States!
Surrounded by 18 delighted family and friends, Martin and Sarah were married at sunset in a grassy area overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. Aren’t the sparklers a beautiful and sparkly touch?!
