Finding An Officiant At The Last Minute: Good Fortune Rules!
I was leaving Ryan and Angel’s 4:30 p.m. wedding ceremony at Volunteer Park yesterday when I checked my messages to hear…
“Annemarie….It’s Larry. We were supposed to be married this afternoon and our Officiant was a no-show. We desperately need to find an Officiant so we can be married this evening – can you help us?”
I called Larry and arranged to meet him and his Sweetheart and 40+ friends/family at the restaurant where they had plans for a celebration dinner. I arrived in the middle of dinner and waited for a bit and then with great joy and fanfare, Larry and Claudia were hitched and all is well.

Finding an Officiant at the last minute isn’t easy. My best advice is to start calling – use the Google to make a list of people in your immediate area and don’t give up. Most Officiants are fully booked on Fri/Sat and Sun(especially in the Spring/Summerand Fall) and if the planets align, most often will bend over backward to help a couple.
