With Their ‘Crew,” Jeb and Amanda Elope to Seattle, a Beautiful and Perfect Day.

Posted on October 1, 2018 by Annemarie

There are so many places to elope in the Seattle and Puget Sound area.

Just like Jeb and Amanda, many couples choose a pretty place, close to downtown Seattle, because this offers the opportunity for one-stop shopping:  a lovely hotel, great restaurants, entertainment, and pretty places for a venue/location.

And then, there are the couples who head outside of the central Seattle area – a ferry trip and wedding (onboard) en route Bainbridge Island, a bed and breakfast in Gig Harbor, a stay at The Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie or the Willows Lodge in Woodinville, or perhaps even a snugglefest of a celebration at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland.

At the end of the day, an elopement, or small/intimate wedding ceremony and celebration, is about personal preference – doing it ‘your way’ and knowing that something small is really big.

John and Katie “Elope” To Beautiful Seattle from West Virginia!

Posted on September 12, 2018 by Annemarie

On a sunny and gorgeous last day of August, we had the sweetest of wedding ceremonies at a hidden spot, overlooking the beautful Cascade mountain range in Snoqualmie, Washington.

Two of John and Katie’s friends, also flew in for this lifetime moment, and together, we shared in this couple’s loving relationship and got them all hitched up!

I love the happiness and intimacy of a tiny wedding ceremony. I appreciate it when a couple plans a wedding day that is truly about them, whether this is 2 guests or 200 people.

John and Katie, I hope you so enjoyed your honeymoon cruise to Alaska and I wish you much good fortune and love on your marriage adventure!

Peter and Maja: An International Love Story and a Sweet Northwest Wedding!

Posted on April 6, 2015 by Annemarie

Maya and Peter.

For more than 7 years, they shared a loving and very inspiring relationship, living and working from different places around the globe.

On a sunny Saturday in March – in Woodinville, Washington – this beautiful, gracious and fun-loving couple came together for a sweet and poignant wedding ceremony, surrounded by Maja’s sister from Ireland and a few chosen “best people.”

The weather on their wedding day, March 28th, was beautiful in a crisp and chilly kind of way and perfect for an intimate ceremony outdoors in the garden at The Willows Lodge.

Peter and Maja – much happiness to both of you!

Elope In Washington State: Get Hitched For Free At One Of These 5 Amazing Locations…

Posted on February 16, 2015 by Annemarie

So, you want to elope in Washington State!

Whether you live in Washington or are driving or flying in to get married, this beautiful Northwest State offers a wide variety of venues and locations for a small and intimate wedding ceremony.

As you think about where you’d like to elope, here are 5 amazing locations to consider for your small ceremony and they are free!

On A Washington State Ferry (from downtown Seattle, Mukilteo or Anacortes, WA) ~ There is nothing more quintessential “Washington” than to exchange your vows on a Washington State Ferry. Some of the most popular routes for this are downtown Seattle – Bremerton, downtown Seattle – Bainbridge Island, downtown Seattle – Clinton and Anacortes – Orcas Island.

You do need to contact the Washington State Ferry System and get permission to be married on the ferry crossing. The staff at the ferry office are very accommodating and it’s easy to make your booking. They do require advance notice of at least a few days.

Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula (Port Angeles, WA) ~ On the Olympic Peninsula and several hours by car from downtown Seattle is the seaside town of Port Angeles and neighboring Olympic National Park. From Port Angeles, it takes about 30 minutes to drive through the mountain pass on a twisting road to Hurricane Ridge, a most scenic mountain vista and launch pad for many hiking adventures. There is a Visitor’s Center at Hurricane Ridge, coffee/tea cafe and facilities. And just a short walk from the parking lot, there are sweet and hidden mountain view spots to get you hitched!

At The Base Of Snoqualmie Falls (Snoqualmie, WA) ~ Like Hurricane Ridge, this location is also for an adventurous couple. However, instead of hiking up, you are hiking down. In the small town of Snoqualmie, which is about a 30-minute drive from Seattle, you’ll find the popular Snoqualmie Falls.

Each year, couples choose to elope to Snoqualmie Falls because of the spectacular waterfall back drop. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk down to the bottom of the Falls and this little spot is a once-in-a-lifetime memory. And for a marvelous celebration meal afterwards, check out the neighboring Salish Lodge which offers dining overlooking the Falls.

Alki Beach (Seattle, WA) – Each year, couples take off their shoes or sandals and get married in the sand at Alki Beach, located in West Seattle. Alki Beach is very popular during the Summer months with locals and offers an informal beach experience for your wedding ceremony.

Union, Washington – Union Washington is a tiny town in Jefferson County, Washington. It boasts miles and miles of scenic beach spots along the Hood Canal. Couples love to travel to the Union area and pick their spot on the water along Hood Canal because this area is little known for tiny weddings and offers a quiet and peaceful spot for a ceremony. For a celebration lunch or dinner, treat yourselves to Alderbrook Resort in Union!

A Precious Couple Who Remind Me: “Love Is All There Is…”

Posted on September 7, 2014 by Annemarie

Earlier this summer, I had the honor of joining Bud and Mary together in marriage.

For precious reasons, this couple was married in the loving presence of their children and close family/friends on a Washington State ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island.

They celebrated with a weekend on Bainbridge Island before traveling to their temporary home in Tacoma.

Each day, I think of Mary and hold her in my heart.  She is going through an extraordinary time in her life and her loving husband, Bud, is one of her great gifts.

Grace, healing and comfort to you, Mary, Bud and family.

You’ve got to love a couple who is so family oriented that their finest wish is an intimate wedding ceremony with their three children.

And Josh and Janice did just that.  With their 3 boys as their “best men,” this devoted and inspiring couple “eloped” to The Willows Lodge in Woodinville and shared vows in a ceremony just for 5.

And together with their sons, Josh and Janice hand-crafted a memento to take home from their ceremony…with fully participation by their best little men!

Josh and Janice – much continued happiness as you launch on your marriage and family adventure!

To The Willows Lodge With Lots of Love and Excitement…On Bicycles!

Posted on July 26, 2012 by Annemarie

Ted and Aimie arrived  for their elopement at The Willows Lodge in Woodinville with style – on their bicycles!

Photographer Jenny Goldberg-George captured this sweet photo immediate after they said “I Do,” with bicycles decorated in signage, ribbons and empty cans.

Sometimes a most simple element can totally “make” a moment.

Congratulations, Aimie and Ted!
